We are hiring an AI Software Engineer (AI-Native Builder) to design, prototype, and deliver AI-driven solutions that create measurable business value. You'll work closely with the Data, IT, and Value Capture Leadership to evaluate opportunities, build quickly, and scale AI delivered solutions into production.
This is a hands-on builder role for an engineer who understands that software development itself is changing. You'll use AI as a core development partner; leveraging AI agents and tools to accelerate delivery, raise quality, and iterate faster. You won't work in isolation; you'll be a key contributor on a small, high-impact AI team, partnering with business stakeholders and AI leaders across the organization.
The ideal candidate pairs strong engineering fundamentals with curiosity, business awareness, and the ability to move quickly from concept to working solution.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
Solution Development & Delivery
- Design, prototype, and deliver AI-enabled applications that solve real business problems.
- Build rapid proof-of-concepts to validate ideas, then evolve them into production-ready solutions.
- Contribute across the stack as needed: data pipelines, APIs, integrations, and application logic.
AI-Native Engineering
- Use AI coding tools and agents to accelerate development and improve quality.
- Work inside AI-driven development workflows (generate ? review ? refine) to produce high-quality deliverables.
- Review and validate AI-generated code, queries, and designs for accuracy and scalability.
- Help define and improve AI-assisted development practices within the team.
Architecture & Integration
- Support the design and implementation of solutions that integrate with enterprise systems (ERP, data platforms, APIs).
- Work with data models, ETL pipelines, and cross-system integrations.
- Apply established patterns and standards for scalable, maintainable solutions.
Opportunity Evaluation & Business Partnership
- Partner with business stakeholders and AI leadership to evaluate and shape potential use cases.
- Translate business needs into technical approaches and working prototypes.
- Help assess feasibility, value, and scalability of AI solutions.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with the AI Director and engineering team to deliver against prioritized initiatives.
- Communicate progress, tradeoffs, and challenges clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Document solutions and approaches for reuse and scalability.
- Continuously learn and apply new AI tools, patterns, and techniques.
Note: this is a software engineering role that uses and integrates AI. It's not a model research, ML training, or data science position.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science preferred or a related technical field or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience
- Track record of building and delivering production software applications
- Familiarity with AI/ML or LLM-based application development
- Hands-on use of AI coding tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor) in real development workflows
- Strong programming skills: Python preferred; SQL required
- Experience with APIs, data pipelines, or system integrations
- Solid grasp of the software development lifecycle and version control (e.g., GitLab)
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment with guidance
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Intellectual curiosity: uses AI as a research partner to explore standards, compare approaches, and build domain understanding
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with LLMs, embeddings, or RAG-based architecture
- Background in data engineering, analytics, or enterprise systems
- Exposure to ERP, data warehouse, or manufacturing systems
- Prior work on prototypes or early-stage product development
- Familiarity with modern data tools (e.g., dbt, Prefect, Postgres)
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
- Consistent delivery of working AI solutions that address real business needs
- Effective collaboration with AI leadership and business stakeholders
